iDubbbz (Ian) did a documentary on Sam Hyde wherein he hung out with him for a few days, interviewed him etc. You can find it quite easily on youtube. Sam didn't sign up for the documentary in good faith. He put on a fake persona, hired an actress to pretend to be his junkie girlfriend (as previously mentioned), and just generally went to a great deal of effort to troll Ian and fuck with him. All of this will make a bit more sense if you watch the documentary. In other words, Ian wanted to make a genuine documentary to show the world what Sam is like as a person / some details about his personal life etc. Sam deliberately sabotaged that goal via a very elaborate prank that made Ian look like a complete fool. There a few reasons why he did this (in my opinion): • Sam is a notorious prankster. This is probably the biggest reason, and is also the reason why Ian looks like such a fool in the fiasco • Sam is quite protective of his personal life and privacy. IMO he almost certainly resented Ian for prying into his life and attempting to share his secrets • Politics. Ian used to be "edgy" but is now "woke". Lots of his old fans resent him for this. I don't think Sam was ever a fan of Ian, but he would surely be aware of this. Sam is also very edgy and anti-woke (he is often considered alt-right), so IMO it is very likely that he would resent Ian's politics on a personal level • To tie the previous two points together: Sam is very controversial for his politics and offensive statements. When watching the documentary, it becomes clear that Ian was trying to shed light on this aspect of Sam. IMO Sam **highly** resented this • Finally - Sam very shrewdly leveraged the whole situation to benefit his own career. The iDubbbz documentary would have increased his notoriety no matter what, but by turning the whole thing into a prank against Ian, he got even more publicity than he would have otherwise. This ties back to the 3rd point; By fucking with Ian in this way, Sam (whether intentionally or not) very much appealed to Ian's edgy/alt-right former fans The two have pretty much been bitter enemies ever since. There's also some more recent some drama with "Creator Clash" (a boxing tournament organised by Ian) but I'm not up to date with all the details on that.
