No, but I think having an entire series where basically anything goes would be fun. Kind of like Wacky Races but real life cars.

Yes, but I think having a 30-car race on a major track, complete with commentators, pit crews, etc would be really fun.

Insurance companies would never allow it nowadays. Production cars don’t have the safety features that race cars have. A lot more drivers died back in the days of real stock car racing.
