So i got the call while i was at work and just started freaking out. I figured they were legit from them doing videos with RCR and tavarish i had previously seen. Still amazes to go out to the garage and see it there
So they give you 5k for taxes and transport. I expect to pay around 3k in taxes because they essentially undervalue the prize value to not totally fuck the winners over
around 1000-1500 to drive to NJ and back to MI to trailer it home. and the following year paid about 2400 in taxes IIRC. they super undervalued the whole thing so i paid off of a 20k valuation for car and prize money
This car is estimated value of $15,000.
If they sold $15k in products it would cover the cost of the car. Anything above $15k is pure profits. The Facebook giveaways are the money makers where they charge $x amount per entry, those guys are making loads of cash plus it’s tax deductible if it’s gifted.
IIRC all of them are pretty legit. Where it gets sca(u)mmy is when they say “DOUBLE/TRIPLE/QUADRUPLE ENTRIES ON EVERY PURCHASE”. If everyone gets the multiplier, then no one gets the multiplier.
Some of the cars are white elephants too. I'm in the M8 Competition drawing and I want to win but if I actually won I'd be stressed as hell. That's way too much car for my current situation.

Incredible! What did it feel like when you knew it was legit and you were getting a '90 R32 GTR?

how much did you end up paying out of pocket after all was said and done?

Lucky_Goal1443@reddit
'17 Focus RS up now! Amazing sports car. Entered 2× .
krazytony88@reddit
Theyre cool until you have to reach out because your order is late. There customer service rep is a complete asshole.
DangerousMarket@reddit
So this is one of those instances of the car giveways being legit?
nickcalvert54@reddit
They make way more than enough money from the increased revenue to cover the cost of the cars. It’s actually a very good idea business wise

StrikeouTX@reddit
Nah. They'd likely have to sell ~$30,000-45,000 worth of product to break even on a $15k car after all costs are factored in
Interesting_Set_8529@reddit
50x2000 entries 100k

A clean r32 GTR is more like 25-30k if it's in the US.

Man that comment did not age well

It’s actually when they go into a massive pool with 100s of other contests. That’s where you have to be careful.

Take the bitch to carmax and take the money and buy what you really want. There is no losing in that situation if you win.
okitsadam@reddit
and now this car is triple the price 😂
Interesting_Set_8529@reddit
When ? I only buy hats from them never got one for less $50
projectphill@reddit
Does OP still have this car?
SubSon1c@reddit (OP)
Yep! Hasn't ran in quite a while tho, trying to do a big modernization on it and sidetracked with life and other projects
projectphill@reddit
Any post or anything where I can follow the progress I remember wanting to win this and anytime they do a r32 give away I do multiple entries
SubSon1c@reddit (OP)
I haven't posted a car update in a while but shameless plug for @evil_eye_gtr
