Everyone has that one colleague who absolutely grinds your gears. Who’s yours?

Colleague keeps making mistakes. HR is already involved (he told me). Used his kids as excuses. We are told to co pilot (check each other work), he encourages this meanwhile I’m happy doing stuff on my own. I point out the mistakes he’s making then get told I’m bossy, so I sit back and let it go up in flames. Then, I’m not a team player because I didn’t fix it? I’ve told my managers and given specific examples, they’ve supported me and frustrated themselves. My senior manager told me to trust him that he’s handling this. Honestly, fed up. Then directors notice the mistakes and have a team meeting of the errors. I tried to help multiple times, he ignores my help. I’ve shared the ways I work, my bookmarks and cheat sheets.
