Okay confession time. I used to write fanfiction about Lisa and Anderson in Bosnia and he saved her life. She later made the bullet into a necklace to remind herself how much she loved him.
Tracy Smith was on Channel One too. It seems like most anchors from Channel One went on to become very successful.
What sticks out for me is the contest or whatever marketing campaign M&Ms had for introducing a new color M&M. Does anyone remember that? That's how the blue M&Ms came about.
I entered a contest they had for a student produced week of shows. They chose applicants to come in and do everything from camera, lighting, reporting, etc. I sent in a video to be the music director or something (the person that chooses the music played in clips and as bumpers). Sadly, I did not get chosen. I really worked hard on that video.
My school didn't have this. I've literally never heard of it until just now.
But that photo of young Anderson Cooper dressed as a "cool 90s guy" is seriously blowing my mind.
Same. My school showed it in a different period each day (Mon 1st, Tue 2nd, etc). We really didn't have homeroom, so I imagine this was the most effective way to get eyeballs on Channel 1.
Yep, and we would dovetail our local HS news channel after it (Mustang Cable System holla!).
Then somewhere along the way we just stopped airing channel 1, and a piece of all of us died.
