Is there any good way to stop dust returning so quickly?

Need to identify where the dust is coming from, it's most likely linens. Shake your bedding when there's sunlight through the window and watch those particles fly. I live in a flat and I don't dust until I've done all my washing. Shaking things out especially bedding gets lint and dust everywhere. Pets obviously another big one but you haven't mentioned so that's probably not it. Pulling tissues or ripping them causes fluff dust, same for paper, could it be that if it's on a desk? Once you've identified it try to isolate it, if it's washing, keep it all in one room, I do mine in the kitchen where I wipe down a couple times a day anyway, and don't shake things out in the living room where there's awkward things to clean like tables, ornamsnts and a TV. Keep fresh air going if you can. I open windows in the morning for fresh air and during the day, if it's cold and winter they're closed, but I'll open them once it starts to get cold for about 15 minutes before putting the heating on, in summer they're always open. Same for cleaning, shake things out the windows and keep them open during it. Dust with a wet cloth, fold into four and use a new side for each surface and rinse the cloth each time to not spread it around, dust should fall dramatically over the next few days. If you've got carpets and rugs, you have to hoover.
