Learn to read journalist headlines, regards. This says they laid off people, then falsely connected it to AI, by using “after”. They do this with stock market stuff too, with no evidence of causality.
Layoffs happen because of high interest rates, forcing companies to cut fat. Then it spreads like a virus because it gives cover for other companies to do it. It’s literally always been like this.
Big tech is firing people because they ran out of customers. They got so big that they are no longer in growth mode and are laying off thousands of people hired within the last decade.
Also they're probably firing the shitty devs who only got the job by gaming the terrible interview process.
