Any suggested Morocco/Spain combo itineraries?

I have ideas but curious about suggestions if people are willing to share them. Most likely traveling solo (guy).
Hoping to see much of Morocco in 5-6 days, a little uncertain about doing a desert or Atlas trek without a group though. Have heard the city highlights are mainly Marrakech, Fez, and Tangier. Would love to ferry across to Spain and make it to Gibraltar (briefly), Cadiz, Seville, and maybe day trips to Granada and Cordoba.
Probably try to keep budget around $2000.

Not everyone likes Marrakech. The narrow streets are certainly unique but can be scary to people who are normally never scared. It's also extremely easy for someone to brush up against you. I'd say don't sleep on Essaouira really impressive shoreline and a much more sensible and attractive old town. Agadir also has some nice sights although it's very modern. There is the city across the atlas Ouerzate that's worth a trip. Atlas were also nice I would not skip that.
Spain well its Spain and has tons to offer. It's the #2 most touristic country after France. Valencia in particular I'd recommend.

Not sure if you’re from the US or whenever but if you ever book a G Adventures, try browsing the site with an Australian VPN. The price (even after currency conversion) is often a few hundred $ less.

You can book a group desert trek through your riad/hostel with as little as a days notice. I stayed at Riad Jennah Rouge and they had a binder of options for local tours. I did 2 nights 3 days leaving Marrakech and ending in Fes. Most go back to Marrakech so make sure your guide knows - ultimately the van took the majorly of the group back to Marrakech on the last day and me and few others were put in a taxi (already paid for in the tour rate).

Oh, and wondering if there are any places in Morocco where lack of Arabic and French would be a particular issue.

You can get by without either, particularly in tourist places.
Off the beaten track knowing at least some French is pretty useful though. Not a huge amount of people speak decent English, particularly outside the major cities.

How many days or weeks do you have in total for this trip?

2 to 2.5 weeks I think.
