I grew up on Bransholme estate on Dorchester Road, literally around the corner from where this famous incident took place (it started on the mini roundabout on the junction of Leeds Road, Wayne Road, Church Street and Robson Way before fully kicking off opposite the fire station on Noddle Hill Way if anyone wants to Street View it).

Ronnie Pickering was a well-known name on Bransholme in the 80s and 90s for being a bit of a tripple-hard bastard. I never actually saw him myself as a kid. My mum and dad used to mention his name as he was well known in the local pubs as someone you shouldn't mess with.

Damn I’m late here. But it isn’t a decent answer. It wasn’t accurate.

Ronnie Pickering has been interviewed and all. The video was edited completely. The man on the moped was saying lots of horrible crap to aggravate him. Which was edited out, to make ronnie look like the bad guy.

Ronnie, however, has had many violent interactions. Including assaulting a drug dealer harassing his neighbours.

I do think there’s more to the video, as it’s clearly edited also. With bits missing. Which indicated that the moped rider, did not want to show full details of the interaction. He wanted to be the victim.

For sure it could be that. On the other hand, if I take my hometown as an example there were/are a handful of names of people that you simply wouldn't want to get tangled up with.

In my younger years, I witnessed some lad being saved from a near-certain trip to A&E on account of hearing the other guy's name. I didn't see what caused the commotion but this lad started gearing up for a fight with this other fella, someone completely unrelated to them put his hand on his chest and said to him,

"Mate, seriously don't. That's (insert name here)"

It was like a bulb went out, the lad just lost all the fire.

The (insert name here) guy actually did up in jail for brutally assaulting someone that weekend and has been in and out of jail ever since.

He was/is very well known on Bransholme estate in Hull. I first heard his name in the late 80s. His local boozer was Warne Ferry, but could sometimes be found at The Fordyke. He was always known as someone you shouldn't mess with for some reason, not that I ever knew anyone who got into a scrap with him. Usually all bark and no bite. He went down like a tonne of bricks in that video where he got chinned a few years ago, so he isn't so tough in his old age!

Personally, I never heard of Ronnie Pickering nor ever met him before. But after watching a few videos of his monstrous outbursts towards other people, innocent or otherwise, it is my understanding that he is a walking, talking volcano waiting to erupt around anyone who doesn't know him or simply make an honest mistake. Anyone who didn't end up meeting this evil demon in a dark alley should count their blessings.

That villain shouldn't even be allowed to roam the streets nor drive on the roads. So the next time anyone sees him and/or hears him say "Do you know who I am", either run for your lives or be sure to have something for self-defense and then run for your lives.
