What are you doing post shooting?

I won’t go into details, but I lost a family member to a mass shooting many years ago. It hit “closer to home” for me those years ago. I’m sorry it’s just “hitting home” for so many now and to see those around me grasping to understand it all. Grieve appropriately and don’t be afraid to seek help. Understand the stages of grief and reflect where you are in it, and keep it in perspective. Reach out to those around you for support. Do know there is a difference between counseling and behavior therapy. For many, this has sparked severe anxiety or brought back PTSD. There are counseling services available to equip you with the tools to manage the anxiety. Some of us don’t have bad childhood backgrounds so we don’t need to sit down talk/process. Therefore, there is therapy targeted to help you better manage the anxiety. This may be a good resource for some. Beyond that, I continued on in life. I recognized how dangerous driving is compared to other possibilities of death out there. Keep it all in perspective. And be kind.
