It is. The 296 is absolutely magnificent in every way but the finicky tech inside. But, it is very much the best *brand new* Ferrari that has come out of Fiorano in the last 5 years, 812 aside. The SF90 is ballistic as HELL, but so is the 296, but with more character and theater than its bigger brother. Hell, the 296, Ferrari’s “base” mid engine entry super car, just walked away from a 750S, Turbo S, and Perfomante in a roll race. It’s absolutely wildly fast, yet still has so much personality oozing from it.

Yup. I mean personally I'd take a 458/488 over the 296 any day, but these are the times we live in and the 296 is quite solid. Hybrid drive also means it's fairly practical!

Oh yeah, if I had the choice, then I’d pick a 458 Speciale or 488 Pista or the 296 (then again, I’d probably be able to afford all three), but the latter is still a magnificent car and very much a true Ferrari.

Intoxicating. It's an incredible driving car. The engine sounds pretty damn good from inside, but the most impressive thing is how it's so cohesive. Everything is calibrated to perfection. Power delivery is terrfying. But the chassis and steering are just so nice when you load the car up. The best car I've ever driven, that's for sure.

Dude, turns out style is subjective?! A Ferrari is meant to be beautiful and a Lambo is meant to be aggressive. The 812 looks neither beautiful nor aggressive, it just looks like shit designed by people who get offended for not using the correct genders if you talk to them My X6 is supposed to bully other people with their shitboxes on the road and it does that perfectly!

The F8 production is ending. The final ones are being produced and order books are closing soon. It's the last in the mid engine V8 lineup that stretches back decades and decades. They have other V8s but they are in different ranges.

The roma is a new model. Probably one of the few good ones they have done. You would have to compare the California and the Portofino and to me the Portofino looks really awkward. The original California has really grown on me.

I'd say the 296 has an equally unfussy approach to its exterior (unfortunately not on the interior) but personal opinion only of course. As do some of the specials like the SP cars. Agree wholly about the Portofino but I'd also opine the California T which no longer bore the Pininfarina badge was much cleaner than the initial California

ferrari isn't porsche. they will change up designs. but imo the only the 812 is the only true ferrari because the others have sold out to turbocharging. 296gtb being a v6 is laughable. 30% smaller engine than a 458 and can't even rev as high.

What makes Ferrari so good in design is that they don't restrict themselves to iconic features but also push them and create multiple Ferrari signatures. For example, the single line tail motif that started in Fxxk cars and now onto the roma, 296 and purosangue have become part of Ferrari themselves. Also people need to stop with the bs pinnifarina bla bla etc. The Roma and 296 especially are some of the most beautiful cars around right now, and since the 458 itself.

I agree to some extent, but it is funny how that look has become "iconic" when the origination was simply that they didn't want to spend the money on R&D and manufacturing for taillights, so they used a shelf/catalog option that is probably shared with a farm tractor somewhere.

People forget that for the size of the brand the company has actually been very small for a long time so most of their parts are cross-references to suppliers part #s. Hella lights and pumps, Bosch sensors, marelli switches and computers. Lots of shared parts with cars for cheaper.
