I never thought about it until now… what does “Ever thus to deadbeats, Lebowski” mean?

The chinaman is not the issue here
cenosillicaphobiac@reddit
I'm talking about drawing a line in the sand, dude. Across this line YOU DO NOT....
invinceable88@reddit
Also dude ... Chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature... Asian-American please...
KanataSlim@reddit
It's a spin on 'sic semper tyrannis'. Yelled by john wilkes booth before, you know.
MrCoolGuy42@reddit (OP)
But, what does it mean?
grichardson526@reddit
"Ever thus to tyrants" is what Brutus said after assassinating Caesar. It means what it says, if you are a tyrant, this is what's going to happen to you. So Wu is saying that if you're a deadbeat, you get your rug pissed on.
Artistic-Host-2806@reddit
Wu’s a deep fucking guy.
davebare@reddit
Oh, far out.
And this guy peed on it?
Skarmunkel@reddit
Donny, you’re out of your element.
Andrew5371@reddit
So you have no frame of reference here, you’re like a child who wanders into the middle of a movie…
robsul82@reddit
It means this is what you deserve for being ____. When Booth said it, he was saying getting killed is what you deserve for being a tyrant. When the carpetpisser said it, he was saying getting your carpet pissed on is what happens when you’re a deadbeat, Lebowski!
hosnpooch@reddit
He peed on the dude's rug, Walter.
Andrew5371@reddit
Are we gonna split hairs here?

You are in a unique position to confirm, or disconfirm that suspicion
