Water softener in Plano. Required ?

How many of you out there have a water softener system installed at your house? Is Dallas/Plano water hardwater? Do we really need a water softener here ? If those who already have it can you give me an idea how much it would cost to buy and install one ? And have any recommendation on where to buy it from?

I'm late to the conversation i just found out that play no water is hard to very hard. I moved here a few months ago in my hair it's just been awful. Recommendations for water soften whole house systems or show heads appreciated. I've just been using chelating shampoos like Malibu C,, but I'd really like to know who y'all are using.

Yes went with Paragon H20. Coppel based company.. $2800ish

They didn’t get back to me until 3-4 days later. So I went with Basin Water solutions.
I highly recommend them. The owner Chad was an honest and down to earth dad. He even installed an air gap for free(other places wanted to charge me $500-$700 extra). Prices were very fair and competitive.

Yes, you'll see lot of difference after having softener. I had it for past 9 years and it broke a month ago. And I was cleaning shower glass with Bar keeper's cleaner every week. Also taste is awful. New softner arrived couple of days ago and getting it setup in a week or so

I have Whirlpool water softener. It was somewhere around 600$ and for plumbing I paid around 700$ so total it was 1300
Check on Amazon for Whirlpool water softener, they have few models and you can choose whichever suitable for you.
