Bro you are still a student

You’re way too young, focus on your profession and being self sufficient first. Also, if you don’t have a girlfriend, just go out to have fun. You’ll attract more perspective girls that way anyway, at least in my experience.

Never and this thread only reinforces that. Such a shame to see a young guy with such "morals" nowadays.
View on Reddit #18288240

PONT05@reddit (OP)

Why is that?
View on Reddit #18288389

Mestintrela@reddit

Didnt you say it yourself that your values dont match the values and morals of greek women? And that you are looking in other countries to find foreign bride? What is this if not disappointing to see such a young kid say and think this? You do you and whatever makes you happy.

PONT05@reddit (OP)

Greek girls aren’t mature enough when it comes to marriages, so I can’t match with them if we don’t share the same goals, I don’t find it disappointing because I know what I personally want.

Mestintrela@reddit

Riiight. Greek girls arent "mature" enough and you arent even looking from the Western world at all. What you are looking for that NO greek or even western woman can provide? Let me guess. Submission Such a shame
View on Reddit #18306250

PONT05@reddit (OP)

I mean ask Greek girls in their late 20s when they want to marry/have children, chances are they’d say they still feel young and want to have fun instead, less interest in marriages in the western world is a statistical fact, it’s not me who made that up, and no submission isn’t my sole dream, of course you wouldn’t get it because you’re Greek yourself.

That's it? So the only "moral" is what? Age of marriage? And there are tons of greek girls and western girls who marry before and at 25. Go take a look in Crete where it is even accepted in the villages to marry at 15- 16.(which is ridiculous and I dont apologise for calling them out acting like gypsies to their faces- τελείως γύφτοι). That is no moral and value issue that is just age of marriage and you can find tons of girls to marry here. IF that is your problem which I have serious doubts that is only this, then you shouldnt have any issue finding someone who want to marry young. Especially outside of Athens. I am an islander and I have seen tons of women married in their mid 20s.
View on Reddit #18308214

PONT05@reddit (OP)

I didn’t talk about morals, not sure where you got that from, however I’m aware Cretan girls are more mature compared to mainlanders usually from big cities, people even suggested me to look into them instead because apparently they like Pontic men like me, I still don’t know why you got so mad for, perhaps you felt attacked? I didn’t try to offend anyone if you thought that was my goal.

I thought this was r/AskBalkans not r/AskWesterners . All these answers seem un-Balkan like to me unless y’all really marry old over there.

How's the situation in Georgia, then? You guys still marrying young or...?
View on Reddit #18276491

HostageKiller777@reddit

Yes and in Armenia too.
View on Reddit #18300955

BamBumKiofte23@reddit

I know that for Armenia it's common for people to be married in their late twenties / early thirties. Georgians marrying young is news to me, but I don't have a horse in that race anyway. As long as people do what they want, I'm alright with it. But how easy is it to be married young and follow through with education or work? Those two are the main reasons people's choices regarding marriage changed over time here in Greece at least.
View on Reddit #18301555

HostageKiller777@reddit

Usually your parents could set you up with someone (it goes both ways, it’s not like Pakistan). However, I got married by meeting my wife in school. In Georgia and Armenia it is encouraged to get married while you’re young and your biology is 100%. In fact I got told by Armenian women in America “ you have to marry young, everyone is getting married too old now”. But yeah usually people start getting married at 19-25 based on what I know from my community.

22-25 majority of my relatives married around those ages

I got married at 28. It was essentially when I was financially stable enough to pay for it myself.

BamBumKiofte23@reddit

I don't. That's one of the neat perks of being married. That and a warm bed.

We say that now, during January...in July it's a curse! A curse I tell you! Then again, she has to suffer from my snoring all year around. Seriously though, it's like she turns on some internal heater the moment she falls asleep.
View on Reddit #18256655

BamBumKiofte23@reddit

My advice for both is to move to Greece and become seasonal workers. You can't complain about heat in July if everything is already too damn hot and everyone is already sweating like a pig in the oven. And she can't complain about snoring if everyone is exhausted and snoring themselves, including her. Follow me for more LPT, including how to solve farts by cooking legumes every day.

Same approach to life issues, better climate... If we weren't tied to this place in ways that we are, trust me, we would already be malakaing around.

The only true answer.

PONT05@reddit (OP)

Would you mind explain why?
View on Reddit #18239513

taYetlyodDL@reddit

I'm not against being with someone permanently but I dislike the concept of marriage. And I have to be honest, feeling too old to be unmarried at 21 is beyond ridiculous to me but to each their own
View on Reddit #18240350

FurryRevolution@reddit

The only reason I'd marry someone is if I felt the true love, and wanted to have the benefits of insurance, dual house ownership and whatever else comes with it.
View on Reddit #18254961

PONT05@reddit (OP)

Indeed everyone has different views about it, and to be honest I’d rather people not get married if they know they can’t maintain a marriage
View on Reddit #18240573

Not planning to ever. Maybe some unofficial ceremony with some pretend priest and official, but only once the kids are older.

Marriage and relationship should never be rushed, don't marry the wrong person, take your time and date only honest people.

You feel too old ? You are probably still a student, how do you plan to form a family without proper income ? Unless you have lots of money inherited or you started working pretty young, it is better to not look for marriage for now.
View on Reddit #18241273

PONT05@reddit (OP)

Well time passes too fast for me, so nothing would change even if I was older, my relatives got married relatively young as well (18-21) so I feel like I’m standing out on that part
View on Reddit #18241695

GHhost25@reddit

They married in another time. Nowadays you stand out if you marry at 21, especially if you're a student. I don't say you should do as everybody else and marry later, you shouldn't feel pressured to act in any way including how your parents acted. Marry when you feel prepared to do that and found someone that is also prepared. Do you have a girlfriend? Because if you don't at least try to think of it one step at a time. If you have, discuss it with her and see how she feels about the idea of marriage if you actually like her.
View on Reddit #18243142

PONT05@reddit (OP)

I don’t have a girlfriend no, the reason being most girls here don’t date to marry but rather to have fun especially at my age group, times changed indeed, but not in a good way in my opinion, since people in general don’t know what they want or to achieve with their partners.
View on Reddit #18243626

Young_Owl99@reddit

You are correct. But as if you already know that, why you want to marry as early as possible. Younger people are generally more irresponsible at their romantic relationships.
View on Reddit #18244676

PONT05@reddit (OP)

I don’t plan to date/marry a Greek girl or anyone from the western world if you assumed that, purely for the reason you mentioned, I’m in favour of other places with different values when it comes to marriages.
