For those of you feeling the single digit cold and snow this year, other than working remotely, have any of you had some new learning experiences or added wisdom derived from your work during this cold weather in the US?
Our office has all but closed up. We've lost power during weather like this in the past (so far so good this year) so I removed a couple ceiling tiles to make sure the server room will breathe if the split unit fails (one failure years ago left the room at 130F.). This week I discovered that at temps this low, the air from the space above the ceiling cools the room better than the split unit which basically shut down a couple hours after opening the room up.
I also discovered that our exterior PoE Amcrest cameras DO operate properly at 10F. I live in an area that usually floats between highs and lows of 35F to 90F throughout the year. I dont get to experience extremes like this much unless I drive to the mountains.
