The first Cici's

I just learned that the first Cici's pizza was opened in Plano, but I can't figure out exactly which one it is. Does anyone know which location is the first Cici's?

The first Cicis is technically the one off Spring Creek and Alma, but it wasn't always there.
In about 2001 or 2002 that Cicis moved there from Spring Creek and Custer in what's now Joe's Pasta and Pizza.
That location started off much smaller than that space currently is, but as Cicis grew so did that location. If you go into Joe's and look at the ceiling you can see where the store expanded from one suite into 3.
Other fun store that used to be in that shopping center. Kaboom Comics was to the left of it in what's now I think a mattress place. A Burger King was where that bar is. The liquor store used the be a Hostess. The other smoke shop used to be a State Farm agent. And the world greatest video game store Microplay was where the tutoring place is. The chinese restaurant, the donut place, and the 7-11 are the only things still there from the 90s.
That strip slowly died once Cicis left. I remember that packing lot being PACKED Friday through Sunday night. I miss those days sometimes.

Oh my god feed bag! I dream of it. It's a deep food memory that will occasionally pop up in my taste memories and I long for it. Thank God country burger still exists.

Thank u so much for posting this man. IDK how u remember all this so distinctly,; I rode my bike to that corner so many times growing up but couldn't remember the names of the shops like you did. Made the memories come flooding back- makes me both happy and sad at the same time lol.

That Chinese food restaurant was awesome. I think it was called Honk Kong Express. Loved that place.

Can confirm, the original CiCi’s was at the NE corner of Custer and Spring Creek. Ate there a lot during high school lunch in late 80’s early 90’s. I think it was $5 for the buffet and soft drink, tax included. The deep dish was tasty af, but more like a Brooklyn deep dish than Chicago. Sauce was nice and chunky.
Leaving your plate to use the restroom was a big mistake back then. Could never be sure if some aspect of reality was altered in your absence. Surprisingly, I don’t recall ever getting kicked out. Good times for sure.
Today the space is occupied by Joe’s Pasta and Pizza. Haven’t been there, but would love to check it out if not just for the nostalgia.
