The comments are surprisingly divisive, despite the sub's usual tone: "Ban on guns in post offices is unconstitutional, US judge rules"

The amount of "I guess going postal is legal now" was nauseating

Yeah, the judge ruled that laws against murder were unconstitutional too, weren't you paying attention? /s

That’s what I don’t get about these idiots. They seem to think loosening gun laws is the equivalent to legalizing murder.

I got banned from there because I called a moron a moron He was saying Hunter Biden can't be charged for felony gun possession because he didn't commit another felony together Which he also did but they're not very fucking smart

Comment highlight so far: "What imbecilic, moron nation believes 18th Century legislation cannot/should not be changed?" \- Guy that lives in a country that gives jail time for Tweets

Yeah, there are a lot of places not covered by the 1st Amendment (or equivalents).

I don't know what it is with idiots and the idea that just because something is old that then means it should be changed. Not only that, but we have a plethora of laws, we don't just have the Constitution and it's amendments. So, it's not like the US is just operating off of one thing written in the 18th century.

Education these days is sorely lacking. "Chesterton's Fence" ([wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G._K._Chesterton#Chesterton's_fence)) is a wonderful concept far beyond the mentality of "The past wasn't perfect, therefore every aspect of the past must be destroyed, and any relics that might allude to its existence."

It's funny that some of the top comments talk about how they're going to overturn courthouses next, when the Heller & Bruen decisions say that banning firearms from courthouses is one of the few constitutional gun laws.
View on Reddit #17966321

Helio2nd@reddit

And for good reason since A. They actually provide security for people at courthouse. Would be nice to make them more liable for failures, but at least there's some security at them. If the govt is going to deny my ability to defend myself, they better be offering actual, on site security. B. These are actually sensitive places where passions run hot and violent people tend to congregate around.

Agammamon@reddit

No, they do not provide security for peope at courthouses. Sure, security *is there* - its not for your protection though. In fact, no one there has any obligation to protect you at all. Even after they've disarmed you. Realistically, cops have a legal obligation to protect *prisoners* - no the rest of the people in the courthouse.

MasterWarChief@reddit

Police have no obligation to protect the individual person, just an obligation to protect the peace at large Which makes no sense if you ask me. For example, if a cop saw a person getting mugged in an alley but the people on the street were unaware and undisturbed, then the cop had no obligation to do anything. Like What?
View on Reddit #17997749

Helio2nd@reddit

Fair point. Should be liability for failures to protect people if they remove your ability to protect yourself.

The lack of critical thinking skills is astounding. >People who are legally carrying firearms and don't intend to do harm are now allowed to carry in post offices, this will surely lead to more mass shootings! ...like not being *allowed* to bring a gun on the premises has ever stopped someone intending to shoot up the place.
View on Reddit #17960260

Same idiocy you hear any time a concealed carry law is loosened. “The streets will run red with blood!” Never happens.

More comment highlights: * It works well in courts because there's also a way to enforce it, (metal detectors) and there's a way to defend citizens (armed security) lol >There's a way to enforce it in post offices, ask them to leave. * You gonna try groping everyone's thighs, buddy? >I'm not into your weird sexual fetishes. * How the fuck are you going to find the concealed gun, champ? >\-silence- * You're not into thinking things through either, it looks like lmfao

One thing the original post taught me is that there's a LOT of idiots that don't understand how concealed carry works. Means us carriers are doing a good job, keep it up.

SCOTUS will end up defining sensitive places and these morons will be big mad when they say a place can only be sensitive when it has a secure perimeter, armed guards and metal detectors.
View on Reddit #17976220

StressfulRiceball@reddit (OP)

And you know what? I'm perfectly fine leaving my gun in my car if the place IS secured with armed guards. But naw, increasing armed security isn't the answer they want either, because it still goes against the GUNS BAD agenda.

This is why I stick to my little corner of Reddit. 95% of these other subs are a bunch of whining left wing nutjobs who actually believe the bullshit they say. What happened to people just being sane and able to disagree with each other. Now everyone just tries to lump everyone into 2 categories, left wing liberal lunatics and right wing Trumper's. Sick of this shit
