Fashion is kind of a wasteful and dumb concept anway, you are not missing out. Most of it is a waste of money and artificially driven. Just find clothes that you enjoy and durability-wise stand the test of time, and you will probably be happier in the long run. Some of the best clothes you will ever find are the ones someone else has already worn and stress tested for ya~

The stress people put on others for their clothing appearances is a huge part of the problem. Like you mentioned HR and my brain immediately twitched a bit and I had a lil flashback to my Hawaiian shirt battle I had once. (It met every bit of the dress code...,) As a perpetually tall fat man who worked remote for the last 7 years I am now out of touch with what is socially acceptable dressware. But when I find clothes my size, its often best when I can find it used. Goodwill and other veteran type used stores are good for that for me.

Fuck walmart sells old lady stretchy jeans with no zipper or buttons and they even have pockets. It's incredible how far we've come, when you think about it. You used to have to text a guy, wait a couple hours for him to show up, and smoke a bowl with him while he ate your food and hit on your girlfriend if you wanted to buy weed. And now I can just walk down to the corner and pick it up from the weed store. No stems, no seeds, THC content and strain are printed on the canister. Whole transaction took less than 30 minutes. The clerk wasn't a creep, and I didn't have to make pizza rolls for any-fucking-body.

Back in the 70s in my suburban L.A. county high school, wearing this meant you often went to Mexico to surf over the weekend, or you wanted people to think that you did. In fact, my cousin bought me one of these when a guy she was dating took her to Mexico to surf over the weekend. Now, I live in Berkeley and you could find better versions of this in "head shops" that don't actually sell marijuana. But they do sell very expensive camptastic art that has Jimmi Hendrix smoking weed and playing guitar with Kurt Cobain all in psychedelic colors printed on a large mirror.
