Where to send documents for UK passport application??

Can somebody please help a mother out 😠feel like I'm going mad. Just applied online for a first passport for our boy, they want his original birth certificate sent in. Fine. Except, where to?? It doesn't seem to say, have scoured the gov website for a clear statement of which address to use, and googled. Probably doesn't help that I'm doing this with a one year old clinging to me wanting me to read 'Here come the tractors' for the 40th time today.

HM Passport Office
UK-EDP-FTA
PEX … … ….
Long Croft Road
Corby
NN18 8UA
Where it says PEX you need to include your application reference. I know this because I did my daughter’s yesterday. You should’ve received an email with this address. Also you shouldn’t listen to strangers online about where to send important documents, I’m not lying, but i could be.

FYI, the address varies. I did my son’s first passport in March and the address was:
HM Passport Office
UK-EDP-FTA
PEX XXX-XXX-XXXX
PO BOX 231
Redgrave Court
BOOTLE
L20 7YW

Interesting! I guess it depends on applicant location, or maybe they just vary it depending on workload to make sure backlogs don't build up in one place.

Nope, it get assigned to a random passport office. Renewed my two kids passports last week, did them one after the other, had to send them to two different passport offices

I’m so glad Reddit exists. I had to send my daughters and mine to two different addresses this week and was so confused as to why 😊

I'm applying for two sons, and because I have to send in my passport as part of their applications, I was told that I could ignore the address given to each applicant and send all of the documents to one of the two addresses (Son A got Hemel, Son B got Corby). I just needed to put both PEX numbers in the address. So I'll be posting to:
HM Passport Office
INT-EDP-FTA
PEX 123 and PEX 456
Corby
etc

Hi there, have you got everything done there?Just worried they have only negative reviews in google. Corby location.
Majestic-Driver@reddit
It was all done really quickly. I sent a single parcel to Corby, within it were three clearly labelled envelopes, something like:
- supporting documents for Bob Smith ref XXXX (ie son one)
- supporting documents for Jeff Smith ref YYYY (son two)
- shared supporting documents for Bob and Jeff Smith
I made things really really clear on the labels, nothing handwritten, all printed in nice big text, even using colour!
Sent it all off from France with UPS, and then things happened every few days: UPS saying the parcel was delivered, HMPO saying the parcel was received, HMPO saying they'd approved, HMPO saying they'd printed the passports, HMPO saying they'd posted the supporting documents back, HMPO saying they'd posted the two passports.
So in the end I received three DHL parcels back from HMPO all on the same day: one for each passport, plus one for the supporting documents.
The whole process took a maximum of three weeks.

How is yours going? I'm in the same boat as you, just sent mine off today and got Corby, looked up reviews on Google maps and am now bricking it lol!

What does L2-INT-S mean?

They received my uk renewal passport the American Embassy on the 8/12/2025. I haven't recieved it back. I have called and emailed them and no response. Does any one have any idea how to contact them to talk to a human person.

Should one actually put the application number on the label ?!
Hot_Pop_5835@reddit
I know this thread is old but I can’t find an answer. I’m sending documents/ old passports for 5 people. 2 are simple renewals, 1 is a name changed and 2 are children first time applications. it says to combine them all and put the pex reference for each on the envelope but what about the FTA/EDP/DAP code? should I just pick one?

How did you get on? Call them up would be my advice. The people on the phone have been great.
I've been applying for 2 first-time passports which had different offices even though they were filed one after the other. I later needed to send additional documentation, and they changed the second line from the first set of documents. Therefore, it has some meaning in their processing but might only delay you a little bit if you get it wrong as long as the documents are at the right office.
Hot_Pop_5835@reddit
I shouldn’t have worried, got all 5 passports and all original documents back in under 10days. actually received the kids birth certificates back along with my marriage certificate before the online tracking had been updated to say the applications had been approved!

Which location was it? Corby.
Turbulent_Boat7383@reddit
Has anyone ever Google mapped this place ... I looked this place up and all I see is bushes... But if others have used this place before I believe it. They completed mine in 5 days just curious haven been home in the UK since last year but been in the states for 26 years.
Mimimemers@reddit
Does anyone have a street number for the Corby address? I can't send my documents without a street number.

What does this part mean?
UK-EDP-FTA
Majestic-Driver@reddit
That's probably the department within the office. I'm applying from abroad and got INT-EDP-FTA. INT must mean international, FTA must mean First Time Application. EDP? Extra/External/Enhanced Document Processing?
