Anyone remember Rose Petal Place?

Some of you may have missed it being younger, no doubt, because it came out in 1984. But I had several of the books and I loved the animated show as a 1st grader. But watching it now... pretty lame, LOL. Now I like Nastina the Spider way more than the petal girls. Also, I didn't realize until just now that it was Marie Osmond voicing. I liked the merch!! I had two of the dolls, Rose and Daffodil, and I wanted the cat. I loved this show so much and almost no one I know remembers it. I watched them again recently and was a bit sad to realize I find Rose Petal to be irritatingly bossy. It's still pretty though I loved the smell of the dolls and use RenPure's Rose Water conditioner so I can smell like Rose Petal

CPK smelling like baby powder, and then there was the Sweet Roses PJ Barbie doll that smelled like roses, too. Ah I loved that doll so much. Her rose petal dress was beautiful. And we deeply breathed in all that artificial fragrance to our growing lungs, no fear whatsover.

OMG I remember the palace! My cousin had it (luckily she had all the big toys...Barbie Dreamhouse, She-Rah Castle, etc. otherwise I'd have never experienced playing with the whole playsets)

My Granny kept my Rose Petal doll in the box in her dresser drawer. She would occasionally let me take her out for a couple minutes. She loved that doll.

My sister had the VHS. We watched it many, many times between the ages of like 3 and 6. I might still have the tape, actually. Some of the music still randomly gets stuck in my head. FRIENDS... EVERYBODY NEEDS FRIENDS!

This is why I love this sub. I would never, ever have remembered this organically in a million years. And wouldn’t have remembered the name either, if you told me. But I absolutely recall this. Maybe something my younger Xennial sister, or perhaps a female cousin, watched? And I definitely recall seeing the toys at the store. I also remember thinking this was a show.

I remember the dolls being really pretty with a lot of little detail in their dresses. Though, that may be my mind embellishing and they were actually just super plain. Pretty sure all the dolls had super artificial flowery scents, like pretty much every toy in the 80s did! Lots of “girl” toys had scents, but some of the “boy” toys did, too, like Stinkor from He-Man (ew gawd, I can still taste Stinkor in my throat just thinking about it, lmao!).

I remember the first time I saw Disney's Little Mermaid when Ursula squeezed that thing and used it as lipstick, it reminded me of the spider lady in Rose Petal!
