Schwag, Mids and Dank: Remember When Weed Was Total Garbage?

As a long-time smoker of the wonderful herb, I can distinctly remember when we smoked absolute dogshit weed. Copious time spent separating seeds and stems from soapy-tasting, shitty, cheap bud. It used to be I could spend $100 and have just a gargantuan sack of mid-tier stuff too. Weeks of bongs and blunts and sharing with homies. Then later, all I could get was delicious weed in smaller amounts. Mids were replaced, schwag a fever dream of a terrible memory. I’m not really complaining, as the glorious choices, strains, options and methods are numerous and lovely, all. But just ‘member? These stoners know nothing of the struggle. I’m sure the X-ers and Boomers have even more awful takes. Side note: I never thought I’d see my long-time drug loves get the glow-up they’ve gotten. If you’d have told the 19 year old version of me in ‘97 that shrooms can help you with anxiety, I’d be all “Yeah, duh.” What a time to be alive.
