Plane wall? “The part of the plane that’s not outside, but also kinda not completely inside, fell off”
View on Reddit #17420243

dentedmuffin@reddit

Is that normal?

These plug doors are designed to work like a stopper for the sink. But when one gets sucked out of the plane like a stopper being pulled down and through the sink opening-taint right. Not supposed to be possible. But something wasn’t done right in either manufacture, installation or corrosion prevention.

That's not good. Someone should remove that aircraft from the environment

Somewhere I read it is a 10 week or days old plane!!!

The CNN headline when the 777 disappeared was still my favorite…”The Boeing 777 will struggle to maintain altitude with empty fuel tanks”
View on Reddit #17419704

majoraloysius@reddit

Well, to be fair, CNN was also the network that wouldn’t let the wormhole theory go either.

A classic. I still have a photo on my phone taken of a TV screen with this headline on it.

A little under 2 hours ago according to their time stamp. No record in the story of an update. I don’t usually read US network news, but outlets like the CBC will make a note of their changes by stating at the end “An earlier version of this story etc etc”. (I’m not saying they didn’t screw up, I’m saying they should just state what they corrected).

Whenever I hear the media report on the things I am actually knowledgeable about, I realize how inaccurate certain elements of reporting is. I always take news as an aggregate, and not as a precise source of information. It’s different with more investigative reporting, where the journalist will actually imbed with people in an industry/situation, but when it comes to first headline reporting, always take it with a grain of salt.

stinger5550@reddit

You see this a lot in the news. They don't understand the difference between a 737, 747, 757, 767, 777...
