How is it best to deal with a Debt recovery company that is sending my friend texts?

I've just met a friend for coffee. Before Christmas I posted on here that she broke down admitted to me she was struggling with a bit of debt after getting behind on the bills. It's nothing really crazy it's under £3k but she's a single parent and she's currently out of work despite apply for jobs and having interviews so she can't afford to pay.
Today whilst we were catching up she received a threatening text from this debt company saying she needs to get her account up-to-date by 5pm or further action will be taken. She doesn't have the money, it's just after Christmas so I'm not exactly able to help in anyway myself (I 'paid' for the coffees with the stamps I collected on the shops apps).
She went to citizens advice before Christmas who told her to arrange a proper appointment with an advisor at her doctors surgery. The advisor is now off sick after breaking her arm and apparently she's the only advisor in the area so she's struggling to get a new appointment.
We aren't sure what to do now? She's tried calling step change but there's a long queue and she's got the kids too. She's terrified bailiffs will come round and force there way in.
Any advice would be helpful.
