People who have been to the United States, what were some things you absolutely enjoyed?

Only been to the USA the one time (Anaheim, LA) and there were several things that struck me. The first was how clean everything was, no litter on the sidewalks or anything like that. The second was the sidewalks were all empty, all the time. Nobody seemed to walk anywhere, ever, which was probably why it seemed so clean. We walked from the hotel we were staying at to a Pizza place we saw as we were arriving so it was only maybe a mile and a half to the Pizza place so we walked there as it was a nice summer evening. A police car pulled up next to us and 2 cops got out and asked if everything was okay, which we thought was a bit strange. As soon as they pegged us as tourists and we'd explained what we were doing and where we were going, they insisted on giving us a lift to the Pizza place even though it was only about 3/4 of a mile by then and easily walkable. They seemed very insistent we not walk but wouldn't explain why - so that's how we got a police ride to a Pizza place the first night we were there :) The next thing which struck us how how fucking top-notch the service was - the waitress at the Pizza place took our order without writing anything down and was super-friendly and then went to a table with a bunch of drunk Australians, like 10 of them, took \*their\* order also without writing anything down and everything was correct when she came back with our food. We went back there the last night before our flight back and we got the same waitress and she remembered that I didn't want lemon in my coke, which was pretty amazing as this was days later. The last thing was how absolutely huge the portion sizes of food was, never seen anything like it. At that same Pizza place, the smallest pizza they did fed three of us! Yet we saw single people ordering like a large pizza which to my non-US eyes could have fed a family of five or more. I'd go again but maybe not to LA - too many roads and a lot of them were huge, like 4 lanes in each direction and jammed with traffic it seemed all the time. But the people were very friendly, like everybody was super-friendly all the time. Very nice, honestly.
