As a Brit, how highly do you value New Year's resolutions?

Value them? Look, if I meant it, I meant it a week ago, a month ago, a year ago - and I did that thing at that time. What am I going to do? Wait for the new year to have a resolution? To have some sort of backbone when I say something? There are things I am going to get done in 2024, I didn't wait until 2024 to start making them happen - that's just where the final thing is going to get achieved. We all know there are things that we 'should' be doing. But part of the definition of should is that you're not doing it right now. You don't spend a lot of time writing about all the things you should be doing that you actually are doing. 'Should' just signifies that you haven't found a good enough reason to actually do it yet. I very much doubt the new year is going to be that reason for most people.
