Happy New Year, fellow Xennials. It’s been a long December and there’s reason to believe maybe this year will be better than the last.

A cassingle! I miss those, in their little cardboard sleeves….

I so wish that that line were true, but all signs point to 2024 being a bigger shit show. Love counting crows though.

On the bright side, it will probably be 2025 by the time the election is decided.

Yeah, something tells me it's going to be awhile before we have any reason to think maybe this year will be better than the last.

Is that Courtney Cox?!

I think intentionally chosen to appear because this song was about Adam Duritz’s break up with Jennifer Aniston

It is. She’s no stranger to doing music videos. Her first acting gig was in Bruce Springsteen’s [Dancing in the Dark](https://youtu.be/129kuDCQtHs?si=AAhTu_nu6Ch_GAl_) video.

I had that album. Good song and of course never hit the radio. Just found it when we would listen to a CD start to finish.

Never hit the radio? Typo of some sort? Definitely was a hit for them.

It was definitely on my local radio and MTV played the hell out of this and Mr Jones, and thought Round Here got a fair of play too.

I was getting ready for bed earlier today (I work nights) and put on some music to sleep to. This was the first song that came on. It seemed a fitting song for us Xennials to welcome the new year with. It was a rough one, to be sure, but there’s always reason to hope for a better tomorrow. So, once again, Happy New Year, my friends. Make each new day the best you can and remember to live your life to the fullest.

Beautiful song but such a downer. Probably bc it was used as a funeral song back in HS for a kid who passed away, a few grades younger than us. Can’t hear it without thinking of him….he wasn’t a best friend but a good kid

I get on my soap box anytime my younger coworker just categorize them as “the band that does that Shrek song”. August and Everything After is a masterpiece that holds up better for me than anything from that era, especially since I was a young teen when it came out and the song writing was so much better than I understood. Ana Begins is the one that gives me goose bumps every time, but along December is perfect for today. God damn he’s a good songwriter
