Would you accept food that a stranger offered to you?

I've accepted food from strangers before. When I was a kid it was still considered normal to go door-to-door on Halloween night. It was also normal for some of the grandparents in the neighborhood to sometimes give homemade items. I can recall receiving cookies, brownies, and popcorn balls. My mom always cut them in half to make sure there wasn't a razor blade inside which made me think this was something common, but the internet tells me that's literally never been reported to have actually happened. Just an urban legend. Also hospitals used to x-ray kids' candy bags for free and warn people not to eat anything unwrapped or made from scratch. Out of all those millions of kids accepting candy from strangers, the only time anything bad was ever found in the candy it turned out the kid's own father gave him poisoned pixie stix to collect insurance money. So literally all this drama over how dangerous tricker treating is has been based on things that never, ever happened. But I digress. As an adult I've accepted food offered to me from loads of strangers, and also offered food and had it accepted by loads of strangers. I usually always have some individually packaged sweets and gum in my bag. If I decide to eat some on public transit I typically offer some to those around me. I started doing that because of a man seated beside me who offered some of his candy to me on a short domestic flight. Often ends up a round of everyone sharing a bit of whatever they have. Besides that I've gone tail gating at football and baseball games starting with peewee leagues all the way to pro games. It is normal to offer some of whatever you have to other groups around you, and they offer you stuff in return. Of course this is the sort of situation where either the offer is something commercial packaged like a soda or beer, or I've already seen them preparing food on their grill and seen them eating some of it themselves. If they've been handling the food in a safe way and are eating it themselves I figure probably going to be fine. Or if it isn't, well, we're all in this together.
