Building a bunker

Hey everyone, I’m a veteran who got out about two years ago. And from what I see, it only looks like things are only getting worse which isn’t too surprising. That being said, I own a small plot of land in a secluded area that my Dad and I used for hunting as a kid. I want to put an underground bunker on it. I know it isn’t a small task and can be pretty costly. But honestly I’m looking for any help on it I can get. And the more anonymous it is the better. So any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Fire away.

I come from a heavy industrial construction background. If I were to build a bunker system today, I would probably look it to doing so with a precast box (and possibly round) culvert system. If you bed, drain, and seal it properly you wouldn't have to worry about water infiltration. There are already a verity of sizes, intersections, components available. After excavation, you could set out a whole structure in a day, with a good crew. Then fill and finish out at your leisure.

I suppose the issue is what do you do if you can't really get a precast structure put into your property due to weight/space constraints.

You forgot to murder and bury the crew afterwards. Op sec something something...

Nah, just make a run to the closest liquor store and strip club and pick them up a few things. They wont even remember where the job site was the next day, more or less what they did.

Checking in, it's been 3 years, did you put in the Bunker in? Now more than ever this seems like a great idea.

As someone who's been part of building a lot of bunkers you'll want to go the pre made route. It's cheaper in the long run but a significant amount. Unless all you want is a concrete box with some vent holes.

Where does one get a pre-made concrete bunker?
Hobosam21@reddit
I haven't come across any premade concrete bunkers, but I haven't looked either. And since my job is in the non precast concrete industry there's reason why I would accidently come across any. But I have been on site for the installation of a few poly bunkers. Mostly my bunker experience is with people who are building them from scratch, hence my knowledge that it normally ends up being much cheaper to buy one. I find a lot of people with buyers remorse when they realize they could have already been living in a pre made instead of still building.

How did you get into building bunkers? I would like to do it for people.

I run a concrete pump, bunker builders hire me to come out and fill their forms. Working in the pnw has given me the opportunity to work with a few different builders that do bunkers.
