It's such a monster. They needed to censor it

That’s not an SBR that’s an AOW…

This is a factory setup with an added grip up front. Mid 90's AWB bullisht.

Pinesama@reddit

Yep. And except for the foregrip, this is what the ATF wants "large format pistols" to be. No brace or "barrel shroud" and under whatever arbitrary weight. Yuck.

You're wrong. That score sheet you're thinking of is long dead.

Pinesama@reddit

Just because it's not currently on the menu doesn't mean that they (or others) won't try again down the road. Especially as they have a peculiar fixation with pistols being designed to be shot one-handed as a defining characteristic.

krilu@reddit

But I was always taught to have both hands on the gun?
View on Reddit #16843609

Pinesama@reddit

Prior to the 1950s, one-hand was the norm. You can kind of see the legacy of that in Olympic pistol shooting.

Gonna need those when they ban barrel shrouds

Barrel harmonics? What even is that?

no forward assist, or brass deflector.. someone took a nice piece of hardware and turned it into a... I don't even know how to describe that poor bastard.

thatARMSguy@reddit

It actually came from the factory like that (minus the foregrip). It was the mid 90s equivalent of those super lightweight ARs with carbon fiber rails and buffer tubes and super light profile barrels, except the receivers were also carbon fiber

Chumbief@reddit

Not gonna lie, I kinda want that upper receiver...lol

Bushmaster Carbon 15 pistol, they’re pretty neat guns. Barely weigh anything
View on Reddit #16829612

BruhCaden@reddit

Digging the a2 style foregrip, reminds me of the Hungarian AK thing, I wonder if they make an mlok pistol grip attachment

Looks like a Carbon-15. Which was sold as a pistol. Adding the front grip makes it an AOW. Or if the owner paid $200 and filled out the paperwork it would be made into an AOW or SBR.
View on Reddit #16783369

JoshuaTreeFoMe@reddit

I thought it was still a pistol as long as it isn't a vertical foregrip?
View on Reddit #16784322

10gaugetantrum@reddit

I think that counts as vertical. I could be wrong tho.
View on Reddit #16784760

Balasnikov@reddit

Putting two pistol grips on a gun definitely doesn't imply you're supposed to use two hands.

That poor rifle didn't deserve that kind of treatment...

May as well use my a2 grip as a vfg. Got like a dozen of those laying around.

View on Reddit #16792234

caffrinated@reddit

Looks like a pre bushmaster carbon-15. The lack of handguard was to make a silly weight so it could be produced in compliance with three AWB. The muzzle device snapped on and wasn't threaded. The grip arguably makes it an AOW but it's not 100% vertical per the letter of the law and the argument could be made it's not a VFG.

lol they used an A2 as a front grip, I guess it skirts the line of SBR status so long as it’s not 100% vertical? I’m just cringing at how it’s mounted to the gas block. To shoot that thing at any length would probably become uncomfortable without heat shields and I’m sure it’d start having problems before long
View on Reddit #16772048

Careless_Yoghurt_512@reddit (OP)

I stg I’m still cringing so hard I had to post it on Reddit
View on Reddit #16772093

YouLeftistPOS@reddit

Almost looks like a scope ring and riser were screwed/bolted to the gas block. Just so many needless things done to what was probably in the first place a decent shooting gun.

It’s a [“delta boys style”](https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/delta-force-cag-gangster-grip-1865049338) forward grip. Made popular by deployed delta boys. And it’s clamped to the barrel, not the gas block.
View on Reddit #16784112

Careless_Yoghurt_512@reddit (OP)

My guess is somehow they lost their hand guard and this was their way of making it shootable because ya know felons don’t know shit about gun parts they probably think every part on the gun is out of their reach due to them being felons 😭

some m60 variants used A2 grips as foregrips so cant be too bad
