When did you last see jorts in the wild?

Cut-off jean shorts - as in, when you cut your jeans to turn them into shorts - were in memory a common sight a couple decades ago, but I can't remember the last time I saw them in the wild. Have they gone extinct?

Shop bought denim shorts, or actual jeans with the legs cut off like we did in the 80s (which would have been my answer!).

I've never heard the word jorts before. Cut-offs if they're made from old jeans worn through at the knee, or like they could have been. Otherwise just denim shorts. The latter certainly existed last summer, the former became rare in the late 90s with cheap clothing becoming so common.

As long as they are not those ones that are so short the pockets hang out the bottom of them like used hankies, I like ‘em - very practical and go with just about any t-shirt.

Gosh that must be about 5 years ago. We had a scout leader who was very much you much wear shorts. He had his reasons - they are light, they dry quickly etc. anyway we eventually convinced him to allow these quarter lengths. We wore them for idk a year, until 2010, and that was that I can't picture them after that without imagining Posh Spice.
