Had my hoodie taken while I was having a haircut, what do I do?

The barbers have security footage, and it looks like it was taken accidentally. I’ve also left them my phone number in case it’s returned, but it meant a lot to me and I’m panicking a bit, not really sure what to do as I’m guessing the police won’t do anything.

Does the barber have social media? Post a picture on their SM and ask it to be returned. Or ask to out a picture of it inside the barbers as the barber will probably forget when thr guy returns if its weeks away!

How was it taken accidentally? Was an almost identical one left behind? Does the barber know the person who took it? Is it a regular customer?

If you believe it were an accident the best you can probably do is hope for it returned. I’d tell the barber if he gets it back you’ll sort him a nice tip, just to encourage him. The guy will be back in.l the shop in a month and if the barber thinks he’ll get a tip if he asks for it back and retrieves it, he’s more likely to do it. Police will do nothing

If it was taken accidentally by someone who lives nearby they might return it but otherwise just buy a new hoodie. If it cost hundreds of pounds from Harrods, you could check your insurance to see if theft or loss outside the home is covered but realistically just swallow it.
