Fado music is pretty dope, and I think most of us have a very positive opinion of Lisbon

Safe, beautiful, and welcoming place and people. Wine - not just port, but of course port too. I spent a day in Lisbon once. I guess in Portugal many (or all?) drugs are decriminalized. Holy cow - never had so many offers for drugs in a 24 hour period. So I always think of that. I’m not saying this to be negative - it was interesting and odd to me even as a moderately well traveled person. Overall not much other than positive things when I think of Portugal.

The country itself: used to have a massive empire, supposed to have good surfing People: I don't really have any expectations except that they might culturally follow some trends across Southern European countries, such as being a bit more open than Northern European cultures.

Fado music, delicious food, Dom Henrique the Navigator, the spice trade. I've visited only once but enjoyed my time in Lisbon.

I love it. I’m immigrating there. I associate it with safety and affordable housing.

Portuguese egg tarts, Gallego, beaches. In general, most americans don't think too heavily about other countries unless they are in the news or there's something specific happening there, or they have a particular connection. We're too busy with our own messed up country

The outside discovery of Japan, Brazil, Spain, pirates, the Lisbon Earthquake, Christianity and religious skepticism.
