Did Walter lose Cynthia's Pomeranian?

It seems pretty clear from this link that Walter loses Cynthia and Marty Ackerman's Pomeranian when he takes it bowling:

Although its possible the dog jumped in the car when he had the door open, you dont hear it barking after they get in the car.

6 years too late but near the end of the movie when Walter pulls the big lebowski out of the chair the dog he pushes away is tue same dog I think
