Is there a SAO pistol that is decocker only?

You get ready for work, put one in the chamber, it automatically locks back(cocked and locked) without a manual safety, then you immediately put it in the holster for the day. Then after the day is over and you’re back home, hit the decocker which safely drops the hammer, then pull it out the holster, drop the mag, and clear the round that was in the chamber all day. Does a pistol like this exist? If so, what is it called. I want one for EDC

Why not a DA/SA with exterior safety? I carry with one in the chamber and safety on, but I've trained with this style and prefer it to the Glock style trigger safety.

The P99 and TP9v2 are DA/SA striker guns, they are not SAO. Canik did make a TP9SA which has a decocker. Dumb idea as if the decocker is depressed, the trigger is dead and one must rack the slide.

The p99 was made in every type of trigger you can think of, including sao. Only the original tp9, v2 and da are da/sa, they are a small minority of tp9s. All of the p99s and most tp9s retained the decocker.

Racking the same round into the chamber over and over runs the risk of "setback", or pushing the bullet tip itself into the casing, over-pressuring the round. Also, every time you holster & unholster, you have a risk of getting something caught where you don't want. You're safer in just unclipping the entire holster (with the gun inside) from your belt and placing it into the safe.

yah, they were made... but it's a bad idea. you don't need to decocker on the firearm to remove the magazine or empty the chamber... so having a decocker on a Sao pistol serves no purpose other than to decoction the gun when you don't want it to. The whole point of a decock on a da/sa pistol is so you can return the firing mechanism to da more assuredly than by thumbing the hammer down (and on striker designs, if it doesn't have an exposed ring or something at the back, you aren't decocking it at all without one).

If you’re worried about pulling the gun out safely, just pull the whole holster off with the gun inside. That’s how I do it.

I would suggest investing in quality training both in firearms handling and concealed carry classes with a respectable instructor before going down this road. This whole question reads like someone who really doesn’t have the experience to understand why the things you’re asking for wouldn’t make sense. No one makes pistols like this these days for a reason and I don’t know anyone worth their salt who advises people to concealed carry a SAO with the hammer cocked and safety off.

I really don't get this question. If you want to carry cocked and locked with no safety, you are kind of begging for a blood donation. If you would truly want to do this, go find a DA/SA gun with a decocker on it and just rack the slide first thing in the morning. Be wary of constantly rechambering the same bullet as you can screw with the seating and end up with a much hotter round. Also decockers have the potential to break / fail, as does about every other part of the gun. I'm not even sure why you would unload it at night if it's also a night stand gun.

Everybody is saying this would be silly, which it is. Nevertheless a couple old pistols had this feature. The Polish "Vis 35" is decocker-only with no manual safety and is SAO. It's an otherwise excellent, albeit outdated, pistol with similar ergonomics to a 9mm 1911. You would carry it decocked and thumb-cock the hammer on the draw. The Czech CZ-52 has a manual safety which also functions as a decocker, and is SAO. It's a shitty pistol where the decocker is known to wear out and function as a second trigger, the firing pin is brittle, and the grip shape is awkward and uncomfortable.

The hammer is back, and there's no manual safety. Just pull the single-action trigger to make the bang noise. Then you want to decock the hammer just to remove the mag?

Probably the closest you would get to this would be a HK hammer gun in LEM trigger configuration, I believe you can have a decocker on it but it would have to be a semi custom job for parts installation

I’ve never seen one. Everything I’ve ever seen with a decocker is DA/Sa. Probably because there’s little point to it. Why not just go double action at that point? Squeeze the trigger, rock n roll. With your decocked single action, you’ve got 2 methods of getting the firearm back in action, thumb back the hammer, or “failure drill”, rack the slide. Which means you just ejected a live cartridge. And yeah “cocked & locked” specifically refers to a safety being put on. Single action triggers are to short & light to be safe without an external safety being engaged.

in the first scenario without a manual safety (or least a trigger safety geez), that is literally unsafe, not to mention it can't be cocked and locked because there is no lock in the second scenario, I just dont see the point in not just dropping the mag, inspecting the chamber and pulling the trigger on an empty chamber
