Is Emma mattress causing hip / lower back pain?

So approx 5 months ago. I bought myself an Emma mattress as read up alot about them. The issue I think I'm having now is my hip / lower left back is constantly hurting. I noticed there is now a constant dip in the mattress which I lay in every night. I lay on my left side. Has anyone had anything similar? I've had physio and spine checked and nothing wrong with them. So now im thinking is it my Emma mattress?

I had lower back issues, and can't recommend seeing a chiropractor enough. They are absolutely worth every single penny - on their advice, I ended up sleeping on hard surfaces for a few months (I'm not suggesting you do that), along with a few exercises daily. TL;DR: Chiropractor.

Yeah. Trained professionals are "quacks". If you have dental issues, you consult a dentist. If you have back pain, you consult a chiropractor.

I think I'm going to have to my mattress to be honest. As my hip is sinking when I sleep on my side. Going to a hotel for a night won't be long enough if it's takes 3-4 weeks.

I get rid of my Emma after six months. I’m very light but almost don’t move at all when sleeping so my bum would sort of sink and then I’s wake up with a stiff lover back. Went back to a thin hard mattress. All issues fixed.

We can’t tell you if you like your mattress or if it’s causing you issues or not but if the dip isn’t resetting well the mattress might be too damp and need to be dried out as memory foam doesn’t work well when wet.

Invest in a dehumidifier for your bedroom or try to keep the bed unmade and air out the mattress. Memoryfoam mattresses aren't good when they get too damp and take on too much moisture from sweat when you sleep.

I think Emma mattresses are refundable up to a year after purchase? I'd say it could well be the mattress, sounds like it's perhaps too soft for you. It's so hard to tell with any mattress, you have to sleep on it for at least 3 months - but at least you can return yours. Worth trying another, firmer style and seeing if that solves the problem. Just worth saying - sometimes a very firm mattress can also cause hip/back pain for side sleepers, so maybe try a medium firm?
