Am I the only one who quite likes the look of the Seabee, its snub-nosed appearance I find oddly cute and endearing, like its trying its hardest if you will
It's certainly interesting plane. Goes against all the FAA rules, yet there it is. Munro Live took one apart try reserve engineer it. It has problems, but it also more lively plane.
Its too bad something like that can't be done today.
It looks like the love child of a three-way between a PBY Catalina, a Messerschmitt bubble car, and Hayao Miyazaki that no one wants to take a DNA test to acknowledge it's mere existence, yet I want to adopt it and show it love.
SeaBee pilots like to say that if you fly one, you'll want one. My wife and I went for a ride in one, flying off a lake in Oregon. As soon as we were airborne, the pilot asked me if I had ever flown an airplane. I said that I had 8 hours in a Cessna 152. He said that SeaBees are easy to fly. If I could fly a 152, I could fly a SeaBee. He didn't touch the controls the rest of the flight. I had a blast. The view from one is outstanding. There's a lot of elbow and leg room for tall guys like myself. My only water landing and it was perfect. My dad was a PBY pilot, VP-12, the original Black Cat squadron. It made it an extra-special occasion and something to tell him about. I assumed his online handle after he passed away.

That’s my father’s plane. It has had a long life and a slow build. I’m gonna dig up a picture. Please hold

I guess there isn't any reason you couldn't use a boat ramp, but it seems... unnatural.

The Seabee looks like the deformed son of the PBY Catalina, and I LOVE IT.
