Why does Sys Admin feel more like Everything Admin?

For context I'm a Jr Sys. I'm very used to wearing multiple hats and going "out of scope" to accomplish the mission. Been in this role for 6 months officially, a year and some change unofficially. Point is, I know I can't be completely siloed, and I don't want to be. Is it more normal for a SysA to be a jack of all trades? I mean I've worked at companies where they had network guys, exchange guys, server guys, sharepoint etc. And here.. I do most all of that myself. There is no one above me, save for the ITD and 1 person below me, helpdesk. This is all stemming from pressure to do more networking, and I fully suck at it. I was never good at it. I'm sure I can buckle down and figure it out for now but God is it so wrong to just...not want to? I'm pissing in the wind here I know, it's a good skill to have and I probably should have more than the basics...but is it really needed to be a success?
