How do you write a suitable Christmas Card Message?

Does anyone have any good messages to write inside cards? I'm naturally the sort of person who feels "regards" is a bit too overly friendly on an email. Something warm, personal feeling without actually being personal and not too gushy Suggestions like the following make me think the message is too saccharine. >Happy Christmas! Wishing you peace, good cheer, and a splendid New Year. From wife, child 1, child 2, and me, may your festive season be merry and bright. Cheers, [Your Name] However, if you'd receive a card with something like that written in and not think the author was about to break out a live, laugh, love banner - then maybe I can get away with it.

Your message still isn't personal to the recipient or your relationship with them. I'd suggest perhaps 'Happy Christmas, appreciated X. Cheers, [Name, family]' where X was something that happened this year, and maybe for people you didn't interact with over the course of the year just general well wishes. So that would include things like 'appreciated our chats on the train/appreciated you coming to dinner in June/appreciated your help at work' or the like.

I literally just write "Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas", I don't overthink it when I have 30+ to write.
