Have you ever ate Masterchef style food?

Yes been to quite a few Michelin-starred and other high end restaurants with tasting menus. I was at Hjem in Hexham last week and it was fantastic, one of the best menus I've had and even more so being vegetarian! I'd say it's nice food in a different way though. It's not necessarily comfort food, it's more an experience. I often eat a combination of flavors I've never had before. Some can be challenging, I still like it but it's not always easy food to wolf down. It's thought provoking and inspiring. It's like watching films, you can really enjoy mindless action films but you can also enjoy high end award winning thought-provoking movies and it's a different kind of enjoyment. Also service tends to be on another level. Everyone's hyper coordinated, they're watching you all the time and refilling your drinks, folding your napkins, bringing you new cutlery for every course, chefs come out to explain each course, they'll brush down your table of crumbs. It's not intrusive though and I find staff are really good at meeting you at your level, if you're a chatty table they'll chat to you but if you're not, they'll silently work around you.
