Why can't they come up with new names for completely different cars instead of slapping iconic brand names onto everything? Come on Corvette, Mustang

Look, the C8 gets away with being a Corvette because of how good the car is, but let's face it, the true Corvette died with the C7, the C8 is a completely different car than what Corvettes ever were. We watched many eras of front engine rwd Corvettes battle the Vipers and Astons in ALMS, and other series. Changing the C8 into a mid engine Mosler esque super car then slapping the Corvette badge on it is cool, but like, does anyone really feel like it's a true Corvette? It's really nothing like the Corvette, it's a brand new car. The C8 isn't what this post is even about though, the C8 was just an example of a car completely changing but maintaining the brand name. Now we have a Corvette SUV coming...I mean, come on...really? Mustang Mach-E SUV too, do these brand names mean nothing? That SUV us not going to be a Corvette, the Mach-E is not a Mustang. It's not even recent though, back in the day Pontiac brought over the Monaro from Australia and rebranded it a "GTO" like the iconic GTO, when it wasn't designed or inspired by the GTO whatsoever. Is nothing sacred? I can't be the only one that gets bothered by this.
