Why do people talk s*** about MK?

I was born in MK, but moved away at an early age. I lived in multiple places across the country. Growing up, when people would ask where I was born and I said MK they would always make fun, and always the same rhetoric: "oh concrete cows and roundabouts"....yawn. As an adult I ended up doing some work training in Lieghton Buzzard and decided to pop into MK to check out the city I was born in, and I totally loved it. The dual carriage ways everywhere, the grid system, the modern looking buildings, even the street names being Boulevards, it was so unique compared other cities and I totally dug it. Eventually me and my wife wanted to move cities because we felt where we lived (Norwich) was too behind, and we had hit a glass ceiling. We decided to explore a few cities and MK was one I suggested. We planned to stay in AirBNBs for a few days in each, but when we got to MK she loved it too. She loved all the parks and green spaces, the diversity, and everything I loved. We ended up not even bothering exploring other cities and we sold our house and moved to MK. This is hands down my favorite city in the UK. It has everything you could need (I mean even an IKEA and Costco right in the town (I'm naming them because you normally would have to drive somewhere to find those stores), ok it doesnt have a great night life, but the day life it has everything you could need. There is never traffic jams and other cities I've lived in was impossible for driving at rush hour. Its modern and forward thinking, but still has so many parks and lakes and beauty spots. Willen lake is awesome, and we have a Buddhist temple! I mean come on man, how can people talk so much crap when this city is so awesome? It really annoys me that people say the city has no soul or character and still talk so much crap about it, when I genuinely think it's one of the best cities in the country.
