Has your life improved under Joe Biden’s presidency?

Its has been largely the same. However, I do think that Biden's industrial policy, the Inflation Reduction Act, won't really produce any economic benefits for a few years until the factories are finished and are up and running. There is an absolutely enormous investment going into domestic manufacturing right now, something like 100 factories are either being planned or are under construction. While it is great that all of the people involved with all of those factories have jobs, the real benefit is going to be the factory output. That factory output will absolutely improve our lives in the future. There is going to be a ton of stuff produced in the US in the later part of this decade. A major goal is 1TWh worth of batteries per year produced in NAFTA by 2030. That is an enormous amount of storage (if your typical home needs 50kwh for about 2 days of storage, this would be enough for like 20 million homes. If used for EV it would be enough for like 15 million EVs, and if used for Autonomous RoboTaxis it would be enough for more than 10 million AEVs (Spoiler alert: These AEVs will be everywhere by then).

Yes. I find it exceptionally refreshing to feel agreement and disagreement about normal policy points instead of wondering if today is the day the Republic crumbles. My bar for the office of the President has changed significantly: my number one requirement now when deciding who to vote for is simply “do they believe in the rule of law and the constitution?”, something that was unfathomable to me in the previous years, regardless of which party the President was from.

I don't have to worry about the president wanting to nuke a hurricane anymore.

Yeah I was just having a conversation about this the other day. We were in agreement about how nice it is to not wake up each morning and immediately check your phone to see what insane thing the president is trying to do today.

It hasn’t. The presidency does not have that level of influence on my life.
