What's your thoughts on swearing and it's place in the modern world?

I remember when I was younger (2000s) swearing was a big no no (I suppose I was young). It's still seen as taboo, but almost everyone I know uses it in one form or another. I use it like it's going out of fashion, but I am Scottish so that might explain it. To me it's a word, it only has negative connotations because we decided so. Obviously it's different from racial slurs that aim to belittle certain groups. What made me think of the question, is on the radio you'll get a clean version of a song bleeping or replacing words as advertiser's don't want to associate their brand with that. More often than not it's incredibly obvious that they've changed it, so seems kinda moot. Anyway, what's your thoughts, do you think in 20 years time we won't consider them 'bad' words?
