Have you returned something to Next with receipt but no tags?

Bought a suit yesterday and hastily took the tags off the trousers and the suit jacket. I tried on everything and realised the sleeves are too long and look silly. Do you know if Next will accept an exchange with a receipt but the tags taken off? Cheers

They accepted the return with the tag in the pocket. They can re attach the tag

Worth a try. Failing that sell it on as "brand new without tags" or even better take it to a tailor to get it properly fitted, sleeves and all.

Last time I returned something to Next it was a machine with a deposit drawer, no humans involved.

Not next but I have returned things where the tags have come off (the cardboard tag but the plastic bit is still attached). It's worth a shot, I'd play dumb. Thing is a suit is 100% the type of thing people commonly buy to wear once then return, so they might be sceptical about it.
