Interrupted a regen.

Sitting in a dock, it got hot so I fired up the engine to get the AC blowing. Truck started a regen about 5 minutes later and right after I got a green light and got my paperwork. Asked if it could sit there for a few while doing the regen and they told me they needed the spot right away. Pulled out and parked on the shoulder outside the property and tried to get it to restart the regen but it wouldn’t. Should I be concerned or not?

No. If you're going to run for a bit, the passive regen may keep the soot level lowenough to not need another regen right away, but you can always request a parked regen once you get parked - the guy parked beside you will hate you, but . . .

If it's a newer truck, it likely wasn't a needed regen. My 23 cascadia wants to KEEP the exhaust hot, so it'll engage the exhaust brake and sometimes idle up with the exhaust restricted to warm it. My soot gauge will still be as low as it goes though, and the actual regen gets done while moving.

No. Think of it this way, just picking numbers for the example, the DPF starts a regen at 80% full. The regen started and it got down to 75% full before you interrupted it instead of getting all the way down to 0%. It doesn't think it needs a regen until it gets back to 80%. Also keep in mind that driving at highway speeds for extended periods allows for a rolling regen that slowly cleans the DPF. So after driving all day you might actually get down to 60% full and you still won't be able to do a parked regen. So don't worry about it. As long as you keep DEF in the tank, you're fine.
