Honestly I'd probably go away for a bit, hole up somewhere away from the house and work out what I was gonna do next. My wife can work from anywhere (and has an Irish passport to boot, so the whole of Europe opens up) so that wouldn't make any difference. I'd pay off the mortgage so at least if it all goes tits up I'm secure in that I've got a house. I've said this to people before and they think I'm a boring sod for it, but at the end of the day, if you can pay off your mortgage and it's not even a rounding error in your bank balance, you may as well.

Same way as I've quit all my jobs - private meeting with my manager asap and then either hand over my printed notice if in person or email it if remote. I'd prefer to not let people know, though I may try to negotiate truncated leave. If I had to work out my leave /shrug, some more money to put on the pile. For a previous role I made up some bollocks about a new role so certain people didn't learn I was so pissed off and depressed that I was quitting with no plan. So it wouldn't be the first time making up shit.

My notice is 3 months not 2 weeks, so I wouldn't be doing anything that burns bridges given I have 3 months more of work. Also, I like my manager and my colleagues, so there would be no reason to be a dick. I'd just do it like any other time I've left a job: tell my manager informally and then follow up with a formal email.

I would tell my line manager informally and in private. That person would know the drill. Either they will negotiate with you or they will ask you to put it in writing. If you are lucky theh will put you paid leave and shut down all your work accounts and access to premises.

I would keep working for a while. I would tell everyone I’d won some money but I would tell them not to tell anyone. Then I would tell each person a different amount and see who can’t keep their trap shut and then tell them they told someone else despite you asking them not to.

I'd give 2 months notice as I like my manager and my team. That's 2 months to get my portfolio sorted and train my replacement. I'd be stressed TF if a full timer in my team just buggered off so I'd do the 2 months. I'd probably miss certain aspects of the job but I'd be more than happy to retire early

My notice is 3 months and no way would I work a single day after a lottery win. So I’d call my manager for a chat since I like and respect her and then I’d submit notice formally in writing. I wouldn’t tell anyone I’ve won the lottery, I’d just say that due to a change in personal circumstances I need to resign effective immediately.
