Lays and Walkers chips?

Hello! I'm a US student studying in London for the semester. Was really curious why the Lays chips here were called "Walkers". If Lays already bought the Walkers brand, shouldn't they have merged and changed the name by now? They have the same Lays logo already, so why not? Appreciate the response.

No.
Your lot stole the logo from walker's after the acquisition by the way.

Not according to logopedia. The Lays logo predates Walker’s by 2 years

This is true. Brits can never accept that since 1776 they will always be second.

Heh, the classic American infantile mentality post. "We're Amazing". Also, do you not realise most of Britain or the world for the matter won't ever know or care what you're talking about.
Crazy how Americans cling on to one random war as though they were there in it. Nobody else cares in the slightest. It's one of the oddest things.
Since you brought it up----It wasn't even a high priority at the time. They practically let them "win", who were the French, the Spanish and the Dutch.

Poor guy you don't have to try to explain anything to me it's okay to be #2

Judging from your past posts/comments it seems like you have an obsession. A troll, but really you're serious at the same time. Heh, bless.
USA is unfortunately clown country and the source of a hell of a lot of modern-day nonsense and cancer of the West. It also looks borderline third-world compared to some countries. Though, the whole planet is crumbling.
If you're white, chances are your ancestors were British.
Rule, Britannia!
(Imagine being overly patriotic with wars and the British living rent-free in your head in this day and age.)

But not like Kettle, sweet chilli
Bolster66@reddit
way more expensive though sadly
mylovelyhorsie@reddit
Walkers have a large and effective brand identity. Why spoil that to use a name no one recognises?
Stork3E3E@reddit
It's completely opposite
Icy_Telephone_7449@reddit
Except only an island smaller than Pennsylvania recognizes? Rest of the world knows lays.
mylovelyhorsie@reddit
Oh I get you, but Walkers is a brand with a long history in the UK - why throw that away?
Icy_Telephone_7449@reddit
Na I get ya. You in Britain?
mylovelyhorsie@reddit
Yup
Icy_Telephone_7449@reddit
Why
mylovelyhorsie@reddit
Why am I in the UK? What an odd question.
Icy_Telephone_7449@reddit
May be odd but serious. Why in a cramped Lil island where you can't even legally own an AK 47? Lmao

Yeah, mate fuck off.
mylovelyhorsie@reddit
Well, I was born here, I like it here, my family are here and I’m very very glad gun ownership is extremely tightly controlled here.
Icy_Telephone_7449@reddit
Oooofffff yeah nvm stay there.
m-r-y@reddit
From a different Brit, your profile is very funny and American

Nobody would buy them. Walkers is a firmly established “British” brand, regardless of whom they’re owned by under the surface.
Lays exist in our minds only abroad, and only in paprika flavour, or some other such exotic offering.
Several-Ad-7680@reddit
Polish shops exist
InscrutableAudacity@reddit
Why would they merge the brands? You'd just end up destroying seventy-odd years of brand recognition.
As for the logo, it's the other way round. Lays adopted the Walkers logo in 1990s.
Trees_are_cool_@reddit
You sure about that?
