Thank you for clarifying this. My google search has led me here, and it seems that so many people seem to be confusing Serbia's national flower with the national flower of the former Jugoslavia.
I'm glad it's actually the Phoenix Flower 😊

I just searched in Serbian, and wow, you are correct. It is strange that google keeps pushing "lily of the valley" when you search the term "serbia national flower" in English search results. I wonder how that happened and why so many sites in English have it incorrectly listed. Did you maybe change the flower and this is old one or something? It's strange..

First time I’m hearing we even have a national flower lol. Idk why it’s carnation (called nagelj in Slovenian) but as far as I know red ones are the symbols of workers (or something like that) on may the 1st and people sometimes give them to women on march 8th, although I would say roses are more popular then.

I love roses. They are so pretty and smell great. Though, the rose we are famous for is the Damask rose, which is pink.

Fun fact about the Greek one. Even though you might not recognise it from its flowers, the leaves of the plant is a know top decoration of ancient columns (search for Corinthian Columns).
The story I heard says that in Antiquity a stone masson (?) passed by a young girls grave. Next to the grave there was a basket with offerings on top of an Acanthus plant.

That is really cool! I did not know it had such a long history in Greek culture.
Hahahaaha, wow Serbia. That is kind of hilarious.
