ULPT Request: Homeless Camp

A couple crack heads popped up a camp next to my house. They are impervious to piss disks and liquid ass because they are already covered in it and leave it everywhere. They are on private property. We asked them to leave, cops won’t get rid of them. How do we get rid of them?

Get some high quality speakers, make sure they’re well hidden and set up a 20-30 Hz tone. Then go out for the day. The subliminal feelings of unease will make them so uncomfortable they’ll leave. Yes-it works, I was told about this years ago by someone who had successfully used the technique to get rid of camping tweakers living in the alley behind their house.

20-30Hz is a subliminal bass tone-it is known to produce feelings of awe/dread, for tweakers with a messed up nervous system it should make them feel so uncomfortable they’ll leave the vicinity.

The brown note is said to be 5-9 Hz, although it has been proven to be a myth. However, a diabolical combination of mystifying terror and unexplainable incontinence could theoretically raise the effectiveness of my suggestion to the OP with their stubborn meth-head camper conundrum. Someone expressed concern for the animals in the area. If the brown note was a real thing I could see a veritable shitstorm occurring across the neighbourhood. Very ungood.

The animals will be ok—they will just leave the area until the speakers are removed. Potential for sort of “collateral damage” would only be an issue if there were animals in captivity/cages. It’s good of you, though, to be concerned for the critters!

There are bass cabinets that don't go that low. I'd think you'd need large subwoofers you're not hiding. The length of those waves, it'll affect a large area. Think of a club with good subs; you can hear them from quite a distance.

Get Narcan……. Everytime you see one very relaxed….. run over spray narcan up thier nose….. if they are on opioids it will instantly put them into withdrawals. Do this a few times and they will move as not to risk this happening again. Make sure you are in a ninja 🥷 uniform so its easy to sneak up on them!

Can narcan be injected by a needle? This is probably very unrealistic, but it would be safer/cooler to get a tranq gun and fill the darts with narcan and just shoot them with it from a distance. Again, probably very unrealistic, but it would be pretty cool.

Yes narcan is also made as an injectable version but shooting a fine mist into the nose works also…. My lovely wife is a nurse…. Where I live you can get narcan by asking paramedics for it by saying you have a friend you are worried about!….. if you are on opioids…. Never ever piss off a medical professional! You will go from relaxed and feeling no pain… to you want to kill yourself really fast!

Her no…. She knows better… most of the time she only wants to give them enough to keep them breathing…. Police in our area will sometimes get on scene first and give way to much narcan and now have a patient in withdrawals leaving the medical staff the job of dealing with a big mess! I cannot imagine the issues, but my wife says very bad.

They are not making it up - my four month old baby had to get methadone for withdrawal (he had RSV plus three other bacteria/viruses from day care and was intubated for 20+ days). Watching him go through that gave me a lot of empathy for withdrawal symptoms

Uh, I watched an OD team do this to an old lady. I was in the hospital recovering from an appendectomy and the older woman (she appeared to be in her 80s) next to me was mostly unconscious and moaning frequently. Apparently she had tripped on a garden hose in her backyard and broke her hip. That’s all I heard at that point. At some point in the middle of night, two people in her care team decided she had too much opioids, and called an code for OD and these two people come running in - I’m wide awake at this point. They argue for what felt like an hour - she couldn’t have surgery bc of some minor test result. They end up deciding to narcan her. She immediately started screaming in pain. They had said they couldn’t give her anything else for pain and they’d have to wait two days or something for surgery now, bc the narcan would work against anesthesia. I never felt so bad for someone in my life.

Yes! I ordered two nose sprays and one injectable thinking it would come with an autopen type system, like an epipen. It did not, it came with needles and a vial. Not really sure what I will do it with it, since this was supposed to be supplies for my daily bag and first aid kit. I dont really know how effective a tranq gun would be, but I love the idea of sending unsuspecting junkies into forced withdrawals. It is like peak ULPT.

Before the intranasal narcan was common, the injectible was the standard. Takes about 15 seconds to pop the cap, fill the syringe, and pop it into a large muscle group like the quads on the legs. I used to carry the vials when I worked site ops for festivals, now I have intranasal since it's much easier, but it's still the same result.

I guess I just figured it would be easier to use for a casual user. The needle and vial deal is a bit intimidating for someone like me to keep in their first aid kit. I did read the instructions that came with it, and yeah, seems easy enough. I have it at home in case I ever need it, but at home I should still have access to the nasal spray in my daily bag, so kind of a moot point. I'm thinking I might donate it to someone who might make use of it.

Don’t. Instead, try using an UNO reverse card on yourself and be kind to them, because they’re not exactly living in an ideal situation already. People will respond far better to kindness rather than being spoken to like garbage (by somebody that should definitely know better than to do that), told how they’re not welcome to be in the area and trying to get the cops to remove them. Seriously, they’re already homeless and have serious problems with addiction-and the fact they’re not even on your property and not even your problem!!! Say a friendly hello, learn their names, Share a little bit of dinner with them because you “had some extra” that you couldn’t let go to waste. You could even “employ” them to keep watch over the neighbourhood for a little bit of cash each week - I don’t know but maybe if crackheads already had a little money to buy crack each day then they probably wouldn’t need to do crime in order to get it. TL;DR My U(nexpected)LPT: Put yourself in their shoes, and don’t be an unnecessary asshole. Especially when it’s technically not even your problem

Yea, I’m 100% with you on this one. Never enter a camp with intentions to destroy, you’re literally risking your life. These guys may seem disorganized, but they literally are like a small brotherhood looking out for one another. The longer the camps exist, the stronger the bond. Occasionally the bad apple with infiltrate and steal, but when that guy is found he is getting his ass beat. Funny story, I live near a bayou with a small sidewalk that had a ton of overgrowth/low hanging vines. City kept putting off trimming them and I like to ride my bike, so one day went down there and cut them back myself. I knew there was a small homeless camp down the hill, but if you don’t disturb them, they typically dont disturb you. Apparently there had been someone who kept coming by and slashing their tents and fucking with their gear. It was like a scene from the walking dead with all these dudes coming out of the thicket ready to fight. Quickly, they realized what I was actually doing, we chatted for a while and they actually thanked me for it. But during our chat and after they got comfortable with me, they disclosed they’ve even gone as far to begin boobie trapping their site. Long story short, if the dude gets caught, he’s most likely going to become fish food and disappear without a trace.

I wish I wasn’t. Someone suggested getting the authorities involved by saying that the homeless are harassing kids which is a great idea and probably true. Find the neighborhood Karen’s and loop them in, they’ll go ballistic and probably do most of the work. Kids don’t need to be around homeless addicts shooting up, having sex, and shitting in bushes. Anyone who’s said anything like “liquid ass” or “ask nicely they’re still people” have not been around the homeless.

Yup they simply cannot be in a public park and near housing. Something will have to be done. They are not safe, they destroy property, and they just absolutely reek. I feel for OP, they’re bad enough in most US cities let alone right in your back yard. People feeling bad for them have not interacted with them before. Majority of them are homeless willingly, there is more than enough resources for them, and plenty of shelters. The shelters don’t let you shoot up heroine though, so they choose to harass people in public spaces for money for their next fix. They don’t want food, don’t want your charity, don’t want your help, they want drugs. They are extremely dangerous and should be held accountable for their actions like anyone else. Not having a house is not an excuse for their behavior. I’ve volunteered a lot, been around them a lot in different cities, and have been put in countless dangerous situations because of them. No pity from me for what OP chooses to do to get rid of them.

I’ve dealt with similar. Would just go hang out and shine a super bright flashlight on their camp at night. Bonus if it has a strobe setting. Or park and shine headlights. Take your computer and do work. You just have to ruin their getting high/downtime vibe. In my case, They were stealing from my property and living adjacent on public land. Cops wouldn’t do shit until I got video evidence of them stealing. Even then I had to identify the juggalo tattoo on her back myself and tell the officer. She eventually got picked up for something else and the da called and asked if I wanted charges pressed.

It's really easy, but it takes 2 people, and a few bucks (maybe $20 ish) Use sneaky surveillance to figure out what the piss Brothers like to drink, and get a bottle. Hide it in the woods near your house. Then tell Mr Urine and Mr Peepee that you want to invite them to get drunk with you, and have them follow you to your bottle. Make sure you have 3 paper cups, they might be contagious. Now for the sneaky part. Have your friend hit the camp hard. Slash the tent, scatter their fire pit, burn their clothes, and piss on their food. Make sure you leave them a note that says you're coming back when they fall asleep to finish the job. Or here's a better idea, Live and let live.

They do not. In my town there's a run down house with a deceased owner, property taxes haven't been paid in years, inhabited by at least a dozen thieving meth heads. Occasionally the cops pop by when there's a complaint but nothing comes of it and this has been going on for years. Finally code enforcement has stepped in but I'm still not very optimistic it will be addressed. At this point it's like what does it take for these places to be taken seriously by the police?

I myself only called petty civil ordinance level complaints or concerns that actually were occurring, as well as legitimate criminal complaints to avoid any possibility of false reporting legal issues. I would have multiple people you know call the police/make reports on your behalf every other day. They can say that they were driving past or visiting. Neighbors too. I think it's just a matter of enough people complaining. Contrary to some of these other comments absolutely do not approach these people. The cameras and lights are a good idea and I would get real ones. These people know where you live, they know you're trying to get rid of them, and have nothing to lose.

Mother was mad they couldn’t save her son. She said they should of saved the son and let her die…. They would of never had to be on this call. They would rather of saved both. Ask the two kids in the backseat who are now without thier father…. You would think Mom would think shit, I now should quit drugs and raise my grandchildren…. Nope less than two months later Mom overdosed and died…..but leave them alone you say….really! We are trying to save them from themselves! Ask the kids in the backseat. Get your facts straight before you look like a fool. Years ago people with self destructive personalities would be put into a hospital….. then that system became overloaded and inhumane…. And it was shut down….. they need help not handouts…. Drugs are killing them! Blame the cartels but don’t blame us who are tired of being robbed and harassed at every step we take!
