Drive through coffee. Why?

While sitting at my local Costa and enjoying a caffeinated drink, I often see long queues of people sitting in their cars waiting to get a coffee at my local drive through. I usually sit in as I enjoy the ambiance of coffee shops. But when do just want to grab and go, I would much rather park up, nip in, and then get going again, especially if there is more than 3 cars already in the queue, What’s the appeal of sitting with your engine idling for what must be 5 - 10 minutes? For those of you in that intersection of “need a coffee” but also “don’t want to leave my car” - let’s hear your rationale!
